unique charm but needs modern touch
The hotel has a charming eccentricity that adds character. I appreciated the family-run atmosphere that gives a personal touch to the stay. Location was convenient, with easy access to both the train station and the vibrant old town, where I enjoyed some lovely Christmas festivities, especially the view of the nearby landmarks.
The decor feels dated at times.

The historic charm combined with modern comforts. The really good staff were not only friendly but also recommended lovely local spots to explore. My room was peaceful and well-appointed.
Parking was a bit tight.

The Hotel was very central and the english receptionist was very nice and helpfull.
Our room was very noisy; the bed was very small and had mattress protectors for the incontinent which made it a very sweaty affair; the owner did not feel the need to welcome us - no friendly smile; the breakfast was old french style with barely drinkable coffee and quite expensive - compared with Ibis Hotel's breakfast -which is cheaper- with a fantastic fresh buffet style affair and very fresh coffee from a good coffee machine.

The staff were kind, but the dated bathroom is beneath me, along with the cold shower. Honestly, i could've left a glowing review, but the lack of a complimentary gesture for all my suffering is unforgivable. I expect to be treated like a royalty, not just another face around here.

The place was stylish and relaxing and the staff were very friendly, the location was magnificent close to the centre of Narbonne. The daily breakfast was generous with homemade foods, yogurt, pastries. The service was excellent, I greatly enjoyed it. Concierge service and wake up calls were available for free too. I came here for 1 night and had a such wonderful stay.

Wonderful warm welcoming Welsh lady (manageress?). Lovely old building with fabulous marble staircase. It has been renovated and restored, mostly quite well. Simple, good size, clean bedrooms with traditional feel and nice bathroom. Great selection of wines to choose from and enjoy - they keep the opened white ones cool for you.
The owners themselves were not very friendly - but this was made up for by the Welsh lady (see above). Sound transmission from neighbouring rooms and from the garage below the hotel is perfect - which was rather annoying for us at times, and presumably for our neighbours at other times! They had some words in their brochure about their environment- friendliness etc, but this was not the reality: incessant towel changing (even clean towels) and cleaning and spraying of deodorisers, and heating on incessantly in very warm weather!

We wanted to be in the town of Narbonne and close to the Canal du Midi in order to pick up our boat. The hotel was ideally located for an overnight stay. Very comfortable, courteous staff and warm welcome by the hotel owners. Good tips given for local restaurants and sightseeing.
